We are currently recruiting for a Coordinator to join our friendly and collaborative team on a Permanent Part Time basis (22.8 hours per week) at our YMCA Yarrabilba Community Centre.
About the Role
As The Exchange Coordinator, you will lead the management and coordination of the Yarrabilba job exchange program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the day to day operations of The Exchange program;
- Understand and meet YMCA responsibilities related to agreements with Logan City Council and other project partners;
- With the support of the Community Centre Manager, review and implement operational procedures for all activities and programs undertaken by The Exchange;
- With the support of the Community Centre Manager, identification of and application to secure additional grant, program and/or partnership support for The Exchange to deliver needs-based programs;
- Develop strong relationships with the broader community, including Community Members and groups, support services, not-for-profits, government agencies and representatives from all levels of government;
- Connect local job seekers with local employers to maximise job employment potential;
- Facilitate the delivery of specific education, employment and wellbeing programs to participants from the Yarrabilba region in accordance with prescribed program guidelines and operation plan;
- Impart up-to-date labour market knowledge and employability skills and abilities to each participant essential to gaining employment and sustaining long-term engagement outcomes.
About You
- Hold a Certificate IV in Career Development or similar qualification; or significant demonstrated experience in Training and Employment AND working toward the completion of the above certificate or similar;
- Significant experience in working with community members who are at risk;
- Demonstrated ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive environment;
- Highly developed skills for working within a team environment to provide individualised support and action plans for young people;
- Up-to-date knowledge of the labour market, employability skills and job acquisition strategies; the ability to impart this knowledge to young people in engaging and creative ways;
- Knowledge of relevant government legislation;
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills;
- Demonstrated staff management, training and development skills;
- Proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships;
- Strong organisational and time management skills;
- Willingness and available to work flexible hours as determined by business requirements;
- High level of written and verbal communication skills including proven ability to write reports, and communicate effectively with diverse groups;
- Demonstrated ability to manage financial processes and budgets;
- Current Open Queensland Drivers Licence, First Aid and CPR Certificates or willingness to obtain.
