YMCA Warwick is seeking enthusiastic and passionate Swimming Lessons Teachers to join our team on a casual basis!

About the Role

As a Swimming Lessons Teacher, you’ll play an important role in delivering engaging, safe and effective swimming and water safety lessons. You’ll help swimmers build confidence, develop their skills and learn essential water safety practices while creating a positive experience for our members and their families.

What You'll Do

• Deliver safe, effective and engaging swimming and water safety lessons.
• Apply the Y’s aquatic program philosophies and teaching standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of swimming instruction, water safety and industry developments.
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment for swimmers of all abilities.
• Promote water safety and help participants develop confidence in and around the water.
• Provide excellent customer service to Learn to Swim members and their families.
• Commit to your allocated classes for a minimum of 12 months.
  
  

Am I a Good Match?

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, reliable and passionate about teaching swimming and water safety.

To be successful, you'll have:

• A current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualification
• Availability to work Saturdays
• Experience in a similar role
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Current First Aid and CPR qualifications, or willingness to obtain
• A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
• A current Blue Card, in accordance with Queensland requirements
• Completion of the Y’s Safeguarding Children Training, including annual refresher training
• Additional swimming or coaching qualifications will be viewed favourably
