Y Schools Queensland - Junior Redlands Campus are seeking a passionate VET Lead on a Permanent Full-Time basis based in Redlands.
About the role
The role of VET Lead Junior Campus is focused on providing guidance to allow vulnerable young people between Years 7–9 to learn what their interests are in terms of employment pathways through informal vocational and education activities. The position is critical to the streamlined deliver of VET to the Junior campuses.
What will my time look like?
- Plan and facilitate job pathway activities and non-accredited programs to students
- Build and maintain intentional relationships with students so that their strengths, passions, interests and wellbeing needs can be supported appropriately through the program

Delivery of VET classes to provide ideas and to start students to consider their career plan to follow
when they move forward to Senior Campus
- Support and champion the Y Wellbeing Programs that provide the framework for operations
- Create, implement and deliver VET classes, as per the Y VET Career Education Framework
Am I a good match?
- Do you hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Career Development, or similar qualification; or significant demonstrated experience in Youth Work and VET and working towards the completion of the above certificate or similar
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain them
- Positive Notice Blue Card, or willingness to obtain one
- Significant demonstrated recent experience in working with at-risk young people in a VET environment
- Demonstrated ability in the creation of comprehensive industry-specific programs that provide participants with hands-on experiences and opportunities to link with genuine employment opportunities
- Up-to-date knowledge of the labour market, employability skills and job creation and acquisition strategies; the ability to impart this knowledge to students in engaging and creative ways
