We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer to join our dynamic team on a full-time permanent basis. The Maintenance Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities at YMCA Fitness, Victoria Point.

 

For the right candidate, Y Queensland will cover the cost of a Pool Lifeguard accreditation, CPR and basic First Aid training if they are interested in expanding their skill set to support our aquatic facilities.

 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant trade qualification and possess experience in landscaping, general maintenance or building repairs. They will also have experience in pool plant maintenance, including water quality testing.

 

  • Conduct routine maintenance and landscaping of the grounds including mowing, trimming, weeding, planting and mulching
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality administrative systems to manage routine tasks including equipment inspections
  • Perform regular stock takes of consumable items, first aid and cleaning supplies
  • Attend to minor building maintenance and equipment issues
  • Coordinate and work consultatively with other tradespersons
  • General maintenance of the pool area including temperatures, chemical levels and cleanliness of water
  • Lifeguarding – Appropriate lifeguarding qualifications and training will be provided to the successful candidate

 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

 

  • Trade qualification and/or relevant experience in landscaping, general maintenance, or building repairs
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to upholding Workplace Health and Safety standards and compliance regulations
  • Hold a current Blue Card or be willing to obtain one
