Health and Fitness Instructor (Victoria Point)

The Y Brisbane is a not-for-profit organisation with leading services in childcare, fitness, camping, education, hospitality, youth, recreation and community programs. We have been working in local communities across Australia since 1854.

YMCA Fitness is recruiting a Health and Fitness Assistant on a Casual basis to join our team located in Victoria Point, QLD.


ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Health and Fitness Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting members and maintaining exercise equiptment.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Ensure the Gymnasium and Group Fitness Hall is maintained in a safe and tidy manner.
• Become familiar with the use of all exercise and testing equipment, including their repair and calibration. (maintenance)
• Complete the daily tasks that have been assigned on the cleaning and maintenance schedule
• Ensure positive and motivational liaison with all members whilst on duty, ensuring customers have a pleasant customer service experience at all times.
• Ensure that the reception message book is read each time you attend for work to ensure you are kept up to date with any new developments.
• Be familiar with the use of operational systems and administrative requirements relating to the health and fitness area.
• Provide accurate information to customers on all aspects of Centre activities and services.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will be passionate about health and fitness. They will also reflect the following selection criteria:

• Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Interest in pursuing a career in health and fitness.
• Currently possess, or be willing to obtain a National Police Check.
