With a fully-fitted 24/7 gym, gymnastics centre and aquatics centre for learn to swim and casual use, YMCA Victoria Point has something for the whole family and is one of the largest fitness facilities in the Redlands area



The Assistant Centre Manager's role requires the administration and management of our community programs, including Learn to Swim and Gymnastics. This includes facility operations, staff management, program management, financial management, planning and on-going administrative requirements. You are required to adopt a hands on approach and we expect you to display  out of the box thinking, initiative and be innovative and creative in your management areas.

This is a full time role of 38 hours per week


Key responsibilities of the position include:


  • Overseeing the coordination of the Learn to Swim and Gymnastics programs
  • Financial Management (budgeting, financial reporting and cash control);
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies in association with the Centre Manager;
  • Engaging with the local community to increase programs participation at the centre;
  • Manage, train, develop and evaluate staff in all areas of operations;
  • Identify growth opportunity for the centre;
  • Hiring of staff;
  • Rostering of staff and adhering to budget parameters
  • Supporting all team members and promoting a positive team environment;

  • Previous experience in running a Learn to Swim or Gymnastics Centre;
  • Detail oriented and a willingness to take on challenges with a growth mentality
  • Flexibility to work the hours required for diverse and busy facility;

Applicants must have


  • Extensive experience and understanding in the running of gymnastics and or learn to swim
  • A current First aid and CPR certificate
  • A paid Blue Card or willing to obtain.
  • You must be community minded and be able to communicate fluently and effectively with a variety of key stakeholders including members, parents, and staff.
