About the role
As a Casual Shop Assistant, you'll help ensure the day-to-day operations of our Op Shop run smoothly. From serving customers to sorting and pricing donations, every shift contributes to supporting our charitable programs and creating a positive shopping experience for our community.
No two days are the same, making this the perfect role for someone who enjoys variety, working with people and being part of a purpose-driven organisation.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- Deliver friendly, engaging customer service
- Process sales through our point of sale system, including cash and EFTPOS transactions
- Sort, clean, price and merchandise donated goods
- Maintain an organised, safe and visually appealing store
- Rotate stock and assist with inventory presentation
- Support volunteers and contribute to a positive team culture
- Respond to customer enquiries professionally and respectfully
- Assist with banking and general store operations when required
About you
You'll be someone who:
- Has previous retail or customer service experience (preferred)
- Enjoys working with people from all walks of life
- Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Takes pride in maintaining high presentation standards
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Works collaboratively within a team environment
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity and accountability

What you'll bring
- Previous retail experience (desirable)
- Confidence using point of sale systems or willingness to learn
- A positive, can-do attitude
- A willingness to obtain (or currently hold) a Blue Card
- Ability to complete a National Police Check prior to commencement
