The Y, Queensland has many services tailored to the needs of the communities including Schools’ Breakfast Program, Vocational Schools, Cancer Survivors Program, Community Centres, Affordable Housing, Youth Mentoring and more.

One of the many services that we are very proud to provide for the community is our Outside School Hours Care Service with more than 50 services across Queensland.


We are now seeking a Senior Coordinator on a permanent full-time Basis (38 hours per week) to join our OSHC Management Team based in our Stafford Office however will be travelling across the different services located in South Region of Brisbane and the Gold Coast.   


Working closely with the OSHC Regional Manager, this position is responsible for providing appropriate support and supervision to the OSHC Area Coordinators and their related Coordinators to undertake a number of business functions including staffing, rostering, staff development, mentoring and training, financial management, quality service delivery, program development, compliance and quality, reporting and asset management. This role will be responsible for working alongside the OSHC Manager to set direction for the OSHC services to meet YMCA OSHC strategic objectives. This position will also be responsible for managing a small number of OSHC services.


Key Performance Indicators:


  1. Assist the OSHC Regional Manager to ensure each OSHC service maintains a high-quality care environment and meets or exceeds budget expectations;
  2. Demonstrate commitment to ongoing personal and professional development;
  3. Maintain positive and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders including key members of each school the YMCA works with in conjunction with the YMCA Management Team as delegated and/or required.


Position Requirements:


  • A tertiary qualification in Community, Child Care, Teaching, Disability or equivalent;
  • Minimum three years’ experience in Outside School Hours Care;
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in the coordination and delivery of high-quality children’s services;
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework;
  • Understanding of operational management including budgeting, staffing ratio’s, occupancy levels and asset management;
  • Ability to work in a team and to exercise tact, discretion and sound judgement and embrace collaborative learning practices;
  • High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
  • A willingness to mentor, coach and support staff from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of knowledge and experience;
  • Must have Driver’s License, position requires travel to various YMCA OSHC sites;
  • Current certification for First Aid, CPR, Asthma Management and Anaphylaxis Management;
  • Currently possess, or be willing to obtain, a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000;
