The Y Queensland’s childcare services has been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years, with our first early learning service opening in Brisbane in 1977 after we identified the need for childcare that focused on helping children grow in body, mind and spirit.
We are now seeking a Community of Practice Coordinator (Children’s Services) on a Full-Time basis to join our team.
The purpose of the Community of Practice Coordinator is to provide tools, advice and framework to the OSHC services and LDC services and to ensure high-quality early childhood education and care programs are delivered. As a successful candidate you will also mentor the centre staff to create and implement practices that are holistic and children’s interest base to support their development.
As a successful Community of Practice Coordinator, your key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Observe, assess, provide guidance and training to staff practice in relation to working with children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Develop and implement procedures for staff education regarding specific children; i.e. daily diaries, child profiles, etc.
- Mentoring educators in delivering and engaging in programmed experiences.
- Supporting services in building relationships and engaging in the community
- Supporting services in developing wellbeing initiatives for families, children and staff
- Facilitating the development of services Quality Improvement Plans (QIP) through reflective conversations with the teams
- Support service staff in the implementation of the National Quality Framework
- and the ‘My Time, Our Place’ Learning Framework for School Aged Children and contribute to the Assessment and Rating preparation
ABOUT YOU
- A tertiary qualification in Community, Child Care, Teaching, Disability or equivalent and/or relevant Experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing inclusion and diversity programs within a childcare or children’s services environment
- Sound knowledge and understanding of applicable Legislation, Education and Care National Regulations, National Quality Framework and Industry Standards
- Demonstrated staff leadership and management experience including the ability to develop and engage staff
- Effective time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience working with young people with a disability and/or high/ complex needs
