The Y Queensland’s childcare services has been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years, with our first early learning service opening in Brisbane in 1977 after we identified the need for childcare that focused on helping children grow in body, mind and spirit.

YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. At OSHC, children have the opportunity to participate in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and so much more.

Your workspace at the Y

YMCA Rainworth Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located in the beautiful leafy green suburb of Bardon. Our centre is located on the Bardon Rainworth State School Campus where we have our own designated outside of school hours care building. Within this building we have created a multi-cultural atmosphere where we respect the Turrbal land in which the building is built upon. Similarly, we respect all cultures and pride ourselves on the inclusive environment that we have developed at YMCA Rainworth.

The additional areas we have been allocated on this campus include the hall, oval, junior playground, greenspace, art room and finally the adventure playground. Our building allows for the kids to play with a huge variety of educational, engaging and fun toys, games and crafts. Additionally, it is fitted with a full kitchen, in which our staff make nutritious meals for the kids every single day. These meals include breakfast, morning tea (VC), afternoon tea and 5 o’clock snack.

Finally, our building has a connected back garden that has been specially designed by the staff and students to boost creativity, adventure and their understanding for environment. Here we have a veggie and fruit patch, bench seating and a sandpit.

Our services range from Before/After School Care to Vacation care that goes from 6am-6pm. Our programs are thoroughly and thoughtfully designed weekly to incorporate multiple OSHC frameworks that ensures the kids are being looked after and enjoy their time whilst in our care.

Our centre and professional staff strive to create important and meaningful relationships with the attending kids. It is our duty to uphold and adhere to the national quality standard where we keep the children’s health and safety as a first priority.

We provide a healthy and safe environment that allows children to be creative, stimulated and curious while encouraging children to play and earn through exploration.
