We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Coordinator to join our team at YMCA Rainworth Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service.

 

This is a permanent, part-time position. Your working hours per week will be 34.5 hours during school term and 38 hours during vacation care time.

 

In this position, you will assist the Service Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators. You will receive support from a dedicated management team, consisting of the Coordinator, Senior Coordinator, Area Coordinator, Regional Manager and the OSHC Manager.

YMCA Rainworth Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is located in the beautiful leafy green suburb of Bardon. Our centre is located on the Bardon Rainworth State School Campus where we have our own designated outside of school hours care building. Within this building we have created a multi-cultural atmosphere where we respect the Turrbal land in which the building is built upon. Similarly, we respect all cultures and pride ourselves on the inclusive environment that we have developed at YMCA Rainworth.

 

The additional areas we have been allocated on this campus include the hall, oval, junior playground, greenspace, art room and finally the adventure playground. Our building allows for the kids to play with a huge variety of educational, engaging and fun toys, games and crafts. Additionally, it is fitted with a full kitchen, in which our staff make nutritious meals for the kids every single day. These meals include breakfast, morning tea (VC), afternoon tea and 5 o’clock snack.

 

Finally, our building has a connected back garden that has been specially designed by the staff and students to boost creativity, adventure and their understanding for environment. Here we have a veggie and fruit patch, bench seating and a sandpit.

 

Our services range from Before/After School Care to Vacation care that goes from 6am-6pm. Our programs are thoroughly and thoughtfully designed weekly to incorporate multiple OSHC frameworks that ensures the kids are being looked after and enjoy their time whilst in our care.

 

Our centre and professional staff strive to create important and meaningful relationships with the attending kids. It is our duty to uphold and adhere to the national quality standard where we keep the children’s health and safety as a first priority.

 

We provide a healthy and safe environment that allows children to be creative, stimulated and curious while encouraging children to play and earn through exploration

 

As an OSHC Assistant Coordinator you will assist with: 

 

  • The development of quality programs
  • Manage the day to day running of the programs
  • Support the Coordinator with staff management
  • Ensure compliance with policy
  • Undertake administrative requirements
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community

 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

 

  • Completed (or close to completion) of relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children’s Services)
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting with programing and a passion for providing quality childcare
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • First Aid and CPR certifications, or willingness to obtain them
  • Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain one
  • National Qualifications Framework knowledge advantageous
