Breakfast Program Manager

Permanent Full-Time | Parkinson

At the YMCA, we are driven by a mission to reduce the number of school students disadvantaged by hunger and poor nutrition.

Our YMCA Schools’ Breakfast Program supports more than 44,000 children on any one day with a healthy breakfast and delivers an average of approximately 130,000 meals each week across more than 431 schools throughout Queensland. Regions include Logan, Ipswich, Brisbane City, Gold Coast, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Lockyer Valley, Southern, Western and Darling Downs, Central Queensland, Townsville, Wide Bay and the Sunshine Coast. The program provides food, equipment and support to schools free of charge so schools can offer breakfast to all children.

The YMCA Schools’ Breakfast Program began in September 2006 with the support of the Clem Jones Group and Foodbank Queensland. Starting in five state schools in Logan identified as most in need, the program has grown into a significant statewide initiative. Today, it manages 179 schools in South East Queensland and a further 230 plus schools across other parts of the state.

We are now seeking a Breakfast Program Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of the program and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders including school leadership, Foodbank and other food harvesters, funders and supporters.
