The Y Queensland’s childcare services has been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years, with our first early learning service opening in Brisbane in 1977 after we identified the need for childcare that focused on helping children grow in body, mind and spirit.

YMCA Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. At OSHC, children have the opportunity to participate in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and so much more.

YMCA Merrimac Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is situated within the vibrant surroundings of Merrimac State School. The School has a wonderful history, dating well over 100 years, and together with the Centre creates a natural, country-based atmosphere. We offer Before & After School Care, as well as Vacation Care for Families of Merrimac State School and the wider Gold Coast Community.

Our program offers our children the opportunity for both indoor and outdoor activities, which we incorporate into our numerous play spaces, including playgrounds, sandpits, tennis court, indoor and shaded multipurpose spaces, our Rec Room and uniquely…the original “Old School Building”.

With Care and experience a high priority for YMCA Merrimac OSHC, we have amazing and dedicated Educators who take pride in the exciting times our Children are provided. Our Team either hold or are soon to complete Qualifications in Early Childhood, with the Majority holding Diplomas or working towards their Education Degrees.

Our Centre Coordinator has been at the service for 20 years and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise from the childcare industry. All Educators hold a positive blue card, with the Centre always having staff on site qualified in first aid and CPR training.
