Y Schools Queensland Senior Moreton Bay Campus are recruiting a Teacher on a Permanent Full-Time (Starting Term 2) basis to join our team based in Mango Hill.

 

Teachers play a critical role in our schools and the engagement of our young people. Working with other amazingly successful peers, you will deliver curriculum and help our young people achieve their educational goals. This is not just a normal teaching position; it is a role where you make a difference every day to young people that have complex backgrounds and different learning abilities. Even a simple conversation can make a huge change to our young people. What will my time look like?

  • Delivering academic and wellbeing programs to students.
  • Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students; and
  • Support the Head of Campus/School in the operation of the campus to achieve educational, wellbeing and vocational objectives.
  • Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment which is learner focused, safe, supportive and aligned to the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with like-minded peers to plan, write and deliver structured lessons that differentiate and personalise the learning for each student.
  • Assess and provide meaningful and supportive feedback and report on student learning.
  • Supporting our incredible young people with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness.
  • Support our young people to know success!

 

Am I a good match?

 

  • Hold a relevant University degree, current Queensland College of Teachers Registration,
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR Qualifications
  • Apply appropriate knowledge to plan and prepare teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students who are at risk of disengaging from education
  • Knowledge to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish an appropriate learning environment in which students are encouraged to work toward their potential.
  • Effectively communicate with students including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
