Y Schools Queensland Senior Moreton Bay Campus are recruiting a passionate Senior Youth Worker Lead on a Permanent Full-Time basis to join our Vocational Schools Team located in Mango Hill
About the role
As a Senior Youth Worker Lead at Y Schools, you will take on a pivotal leadership role within our youth services team. You will be responsible for developing and overseeing engaging youth programs, providing guidance and mentorship to staff, and ensuring that all services meet the highest standards of care, safety, and effectiveness. Your work will directly contribute to the well-being, development, and empowerment of the young people we support.
What will my time look like?
- Oversee the delivery of the school’s student wellbeing support and community development so that student wellbeing needs and attendance targets are met
- Plan and lead wellbeing programs to students
- Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students
- Plan and lead associated programs, services and events offered to young people through the operation of the campus
- Mentor and support all youth workers including Senior Youth Workers across both junior and senior campuses
- Oversee day-to-day operations of youth programs
Am I a good match?
- Hold a Certificate IV or above in Youth Work, Community Services or other relevant qualification
- Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card, or be willing to obtain
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young people including the ability to communicate appropriately with young people and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive environment
- Ability and commitment to working with young people using the Strengths Approach and ability to demonstrate non-judgmental, empathic framework
- Be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
