The YMCA Schools’ Breakfast Program began in September 2006 with the support of the Clem Jones Group and Foodbank Queensland. The program started at five state schools in the heart of Logan, deemed by Education Queensland as ‘most in need’ of a breakfast program. Our aim is to ensure students are provided with the best opportunity to make the most of their education and develop healthy eating habits.
YMCA Schools’ Breakfast Program are recruiting a committed Delivery Driver and Warehouse Assistant to join our diverse and enthusiastic team on a Casual basis (up to 22 hours per week on school days) in Kingston.
About the role
Are you a reliable and safety-conscious driver who enjoys being on the road and making a difference in your community? Join our team as a Delivery Driver and Warehouse Assistant, where you'll play a key role in providing essential delivery services to Y Schools across Southeast Queensland.
What will my time look like?
- Operate a two-pallet refrigerated truck – (truck licence is not required)
- Deliver food supplies to schools
- Undertake manual tasks such as lifting, stacking, packing and loading products
- Collect food donations from donors, when required
- Assist with general warehouse responsibilities
- Assist with food quality control checking and associated administration tasks
- Assist with supporting and directing warehouse volunteers, students & visitors
Am I a good match?
- Previous experience in a role with a high volume of driving required
- Available to work in a flexible role, start times from 7am
- Minimum shifts are 4 hours up to 7.5 hours
- Ability to work Monday to Friday, No weekends
- Due to the Nature of the YMCA Schools’ Breakfast Program no work available on School holidays
- Good communication, administration and numeracy skills
- Open Manual and Automatic Driver’s License including a 3-pallet truck
- Current Positive Notice Blue Card; or willingness to obtain
- Current National Police Check; or willingness to obtain
- Ability to be flexible in terms of swapping shifts and taking on additional shifts when required
