About the team

 

At The Y, we operate two camp locations only 35 minutes north of Brisbane. The camps are set in beautiful bushland settings, providing guests the opportunity to escape and recharge, or to challenge themselves through a range of adventure activities on land, in water, or up in the air. 

 

YMCA Camp Warrawee are currently recruiting a Camp Cook on a casual basis to join our team based in Joyner, QLD.

 

About the role?

 

Are you passionate about cooking and ready for a new adventure? We're seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Camp Cooks to join our team at YMCA Camping! With our brand new, kitchen facilities now in place, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills and make a positive impact on our campers' experience.  Clients include School, Church and Community Groups.

 

What will my time look like?

 

  • Offer friendly and professional service to guests
  • Organise and prepare quality meals and service, as directed by the Camp Manager
  • Order and receive stock and ensure adequate stock control and reporting measures are in place (when required)
  • Maintain kitchen within local health and cleanliness guidelines
  • Monitor quality control of food preparation and report any variations
  • Supervise and manage kitchen-hand staff members

 

Am I a good match?

 

  • Qualifications or equivalent industry experience
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best-work practises
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work flexible hours as determined by business requirements
  • First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them
