About the Team
The primary purpose of each YMCA Community Centre is supporting people to find a greater level of connection in their community. This is achieved by the provision of high-quality programs into the community, targeting families with young children, youth and the general community.
YMCA Ipswich Youth Centre are looking for their next community hero as a Senior Operations Coordinator to join their team on a Part-Time, Fixed Term basis based in Ipswich
About the role
As a Senior Operations Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role coordinating all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Ipswich Centre including the support of compliance and reporting requirements. Key responsibilities of this position include the coordination of Community Centre Management and Improvement, Community Engagement and Development, People Management and Impact, Innovation and Change.
What will my time look like?
- Develop and deliver community-based programs and services to deliver and facilitate programs that meet the needs of local community, in particular families, marginalised community members and groups
- Use a community development framework to create positive initiatives in conjunction with The Y Schools’ students and staff that contribute toward the mission of the school and the positive development of students and their families and stakeholders
- Provide access to information and referral pathways to people in the community needing first point of contact support
- Provide direction and support to junior staff, volunteers and program contractors to ensure that they are fulfilling their tasks appropriately and within the YMCA mission and values
- Actively facilitate processes to gather information to monitor, evaluate and then adapt programs and activities to ensure the impact is maximised
- Contribute constructively to a positive team culture that actively embraces the Y mission and values and promote innovation through commitment to quality improvement
Am I a good match?
- Diploma or other relevant qualifications and/or a combination of relevant qualifications and experience
- Comprehensive working knowledge of community centre environments
- Knowledge of relevant government legislation
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Demonstrated staff supervision, training and development skills
- Proven ability to develop and manage customer relationships
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to manage, conflict, complaints and any difficult situations, which may arise
- Willingness and available to work flexible hours as determined by business requirements
- High level of written and verbal communication skills including proven ability to write reports, and communicate effectively with diverse groups
- Current Open Queensland Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates or willingness to obtain
- Possess or willingness to obtain a Blue Card and a National Criminal History check prior to commencement of employment
- Willingness to obtain an ACF Safeguarding Children Certificate
