Y Queensland People and Culture Team are recruiting a People and Culture Business Partner to join our team on a Permanent Full-Time basis. This role will be located at our Corporate Office in Fortitude Valley, QLD.

 

About the Opportunity

As a People & Culture Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders across your portfolio to deliver highquality, contemporary and legally compliant HR advice and support. You will be a trusted advisor, helping leaders navigate employee relations, workforce planning, performance, recruitment and operational HR processes.

You will also contribute to broader People & Culture improvement initiatives, including policy development, HR systems optimisation, compliance projects, and building leader capability through tools, training and coaching in alignment with the duties and governance work reflected in P&C project responsibilities at the Y Queensland.

This is an exciting opportunity for a People & Culture professional who enjoys building strong relationships with key stakeholders, driving strategic HR initiatives, and shaping the future of people management practices.

 

What will my time look like?

  • Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures that align with best practices and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with leaders within your portfolio to provide high-quality, tailored HR advice on employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and workforce planning, ensuring alignment with the needs of each department.
  • Support leadership development initiatives by offering tools, coaching, and training to enhance leadership capability and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems, identifying efficiencies and enhancing the employee experience in alignment with Y Queensland’s goals.
  • Ensure HR practices are compliant with relevant legislation, policies, and Y Queensland standards within your portfolio.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to implement effective recruitment strategies, workforce planning, and succession planning to meet current and future business needs.
  • Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and wellbeing, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

 

Am I a good match?

 

A good match must have:

 

  • 3–4+ years’ experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
  • Willingness to obtain or hold a current paid blue card and national police clearance prior to commencement
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary HR/IR legislation and award interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver accurate, highquality work.
  • A proactive, solutionsfocused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • High standards of confidentiality, professionalism and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a broader team environment
