Y Queensland are recruiting for an Internal Auditor on a Part-Time Fixed-Time basis to join our team located in Fortitude Valley.
As an Internal Auditor with the Y Queensland, you will be responsible for performing internal audits as per the existing audit program and developing reports to show the effectiveness of current practice, as well as to highlight areas for improvement. You will also provide audit recommendations, ensuring follow-up and the satisfactory implementation of agreed recommendations.
What will my time look like?
- Perform audit work as requested by Senior Management or the Board of Directors including ensuring that branch audits are performed as per the existing audit program and periodic audits are performed at all branches on a rotational basis
- Report to the team lead on opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Internal Audit function, including the development and implementation of future risk based Internal Audit strategies and plans that will provide reasonable assurance that
- Track audit recommendations to ensure follow up and the satisfactory implementation of agreed recommendations;
- Liaise with YMCA’s External Auditor on Internal Audit reliance matters;
- Perform risk assessments as required;
- Contribute to, revise and update audit plans as required
Am I a good match?
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Professional qualifications to a CPA/ACA level desirable
- A current driver’s license and private vehicle
- Demonstrated understanding of financial recording systems
- Highly effective time management skills including the ability to plan, organize and multitask
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution skills;
- Capacity to consistently demonstrate a high level of initiative, attention to detail as well as the ability to analyse and report on results;
- Proven consistency in making sound decisions by working collaboratively with other staff as well as utilising and analysing available information, knowledge and experience;
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality;
- Currently possess, or be willing to obtain a National Police Check and a positive notice Blue Card in accordance with the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000;
- Achievement of YMCA’s Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training
