The Role

 

You will provide practical and heartfelt Human Resource guidance to all staff. You’ll engage and connect with employees while you embody our values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Collaborating with the HR Manager, you’ll drive uplifting HR strategies while you hone your leadership skills with a small but dedicated HR team. You’ll advise employees and managers through HR best practice and support them on matters that arise, creating a safe environment that ensures everyone has a voice. The Responsibilities

 

Working collaboratively with the YMCA Human Resources Department, this hands on position supports the full spectrum of HR responsibilities including;

  • Lead and support HR Advises in HR Matters such as workplace investigations, performance management processes and relevant communication;
  • Provides advice and support on all Employment Relations and Industrial Relations matters in line with YMCA's Policies and Procedures and applicable industrial instruments;
  • Develop, coordinate and manage HR related efficiency improvements;
  • Liase with the HR Manager, provide strategic advice and input on HR/ER workforce matters, options and solutions that will support organisational requirements and minimise risk;
  • Support the HR Manager with the development and implementation of HR projects;
  • Pro-active HR Business Partnering for allocated group portfolio;
  • Play an active role as the HR Business partner to Group Managers and Line Managers for allocated business portfolio;
  • Provide advice and support on training compliance, HR policies, procedures and legislated obligations;
  • Generate documentation, including appointment letters, contracts, reports, notes, submissions and other correspondence, which is legally compliant;
  • Administer Success Factors, the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

The Essentials

 

  • Must have 5+ years’ experience as a HR Generalist / Industrial Relations with experience in a medium to large organisation;
  • 2+ years’ experience leading teams;
  • Strong, practical understanding of Employment Relations and Investigations
  • Degree qualifications in Human Resources Management or related disciplines;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current HR and IR legislative requirements and ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation;
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team;
  • Highly developed level of written and spoken communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines and ensure accuracy;
  • Drive team performance to ensure effective delivery and timelines are achieved
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to work individually as well in a team.

 

The Good-to-Have's

 

  • Comprehensive and working knowledge of payroll systems;
  • Experience with Payroll and HRIS; (Success Factors)
  • Business process improvement experience.
  • Experience working for Not for profit organisation
  • Working with Children Blue card
  • Awareness of “Safeguarding Children” Compliance
