About the role

 

As Teacher Aide with the Y, you will be working within the Teaching, Learning and Inclusion Teams assisting and supporting teachers, students and parents with learning activities and administrative duties in a supportive school environment.

 

Y Schools Queensland Junior Ipswich Campus is recruiting a Teacher Aide on a Permanent Full-Time basis to join our team located in Bundamba.

 

What will my time look like?

 

  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs and confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitively to students and their families
  • Supervision of small groups of students, undertaking specific learning activities designed by a teacher, when the teacher is not in the room but is available to be called on if needed
  • Work successfully in a small team and within the school’s philosophy and ethos to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to safeguarding children and young people and the Safeguarding code of conduct
  • Conducting reading groups, maths groups and other activities, including the gathering of applicable resources, in cooperation with teachers and consistent with curriculum, syllabi and relevant educational policies, procedures and frameworks

 

Am I a good match?

 

  • Currently hold a Cert IV in Education Support or Equivalent Experience
  • Supporting the delivery of literacy and numeracy intervention to be implemented throughout the school
  • Supporting the delivery of differentiated teaching, learning and assessment plans offered to students
  • Supporting the preparation of resources aligned with the Literacy and Numeracy Intervention program
  • Assisting with data collection and collation to assess student progress in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates, or willingness to obtain them
  • Positive Notice Blue Card, or willingness to obtain
