Y Schools Queensland Ipswich Junior Campus is seeking a dedicated and dynamic School Administrator to join our team on a fixed term (until early December 2025), part-time basis, based at our campus in Bundamba, QLD. The role is for 20 hours per week and start and finish times may be negotiated. 11:00am – 3:00pm, Monday – Friday is preferred.

About the role
Y Schools Queensland are on the lookout for an individual who can handle the complex and multifaceted nature of school administration. School administrators juggle numerous tasks such as managing student records, coordinating schedules, finance tasks, handling communications with parents/staff and staff and ensuring daily operations run smoothly. Being organised helps ensure that all these responsibilities are managed efficiently.
As a School Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth operation of our school, supporting both students and staff members. You will complete a wide range of administrative tasks, manage day-to-day operations from the front desk and contribute to the overall success and growth of the school!
What will my time look like
- You will be the first point of contact at reception and on the phone. You will need to be welcoming and able to speak with people at all levels.
- Provide effective communication and operations between staff, parents/carers, visitors and students.
- Handle administrative tasks such as student attendance record-keeping, incident reports, administration of student medication, student enrolments and exits.
- Adhere to various regulations and standards. Administrators need to keep track of compliance and audit requirements and prepare reports/responses accurately and on time.
- From organising meetings, daily operations to school events, administrators need to plan and execute a variety of tasks.
- Support the school's financial activities including, banking, processing payments and orders, receipting, reconciling invoices for payment and follow up on late payments.
- Assist and train other staff and volunteers where needed.
Am I a good match?
- Certificate III in Business or equivalent, coupled with experience in a similar role
- You can prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proactively willing to use your initiative to complete tasks and manage work loads
- Monday to Friday, no weekends (occasional events and travel required)
