As the social impact arm of the YMCA, Y-Care, trades as YMCA Social Impact and exists to serve people in our community who are disadvantaged. Social Impact’s programs each operate in different areas but share the common theme of assisting people overcome the challenges they face in body, mind and spirit. Services and programs managed by Social Impact fall under the following 5 focus areas: Youth and Education, Healthy Futures, Community Housing, Disability and Social Enterprise.

 

We are now recruiting for a permanent, full-time Senior Administrator and Projects Officer to commence immediately to support Social Impact business units.

The successful candidate will provide staff training across a variety of YMCA sites, as well as IT, administrative and project support to a diverse range of programs, including Vocational Schools, Housing and Social Enterprise. 

 

ABOUT THE POSITION


Working as part of the Business Services team, you will be responsible for providing a high level of support to a wide variety of functions and business improvement initiatives. 


You will be required to communicate professionally and effectively with YMCA staff at all levels, have a high level of attention to detail, excellent written skills, IT skills and critical thinking skills. Building and maintaining positive and collaborative professional relationships is critical to success in this role.


Responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:

  • Providing administration training and site support across a variety of locations across South East QLD
  • Writing and document control of policy and standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation. Creation of training videos to support the team.
  • Regular audits to ensure that sites are compliant and operating at expected standards.
  • New software investigation, suitability assessment, implementation, roll out, administration, reporting and training of staff

Ideal applicant:

  • Looking for a challenge and have a strong interest in process and systems improvement.
  • Friendly, outgoing, enjoy working with others and have exceptional time management skills and personal resilience
  • This position requires the ability to think outside the box, be solutions focussed and highly organised
  • Minimum education level of certificate III in Business or equivalent, coupled with experience in a similar role
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to supporting the varied business units that operate as part of Social Impact
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills including an ability to quickly respond to changing priorities
  • Have the ability to work successfully in a small team
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience providing face to face and remote administration support/training
  • Software implementation project experience, including training of end users will be will be highly regarded
  • Open drivers licence and own reliable vehicle, as significant travel to sites across South East QLD is required. Mileage reimbursement is available for travel in excess of to and from the primary work location
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Positive Notice Blue Card and Police Check
  • Experience working in the not for profit industry is an advantage
