The Y is seeking to employ experienced and new-to-the-industry educators, offering both casual and permanent part time hours with the opportunity for full time. 

 

YMCA Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) Early Learning Service is a purpose-built centre located on the rooftop of the hospital’s carpark, with state-of-the-art facilities, a purpose-built garden and modern equipment.

About the Role:

 

We are seeking casual or permanent part time Educators who play a very important role at our service. No day is the same and you will find variety with each shift. You may cover lunches, programming, holidays/sick days (some on call work including open and close is required).

 

Your main duties will be supervising and interacting with the children, setting up activities and ensuring each one of our families feel welcome at our service. You will also be required to:

 

  • Nurture, care and educate children from birth to 5 years of age.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with fellow Educators to develop and implement inspirational educational programs.
  • Documenting children's learning and development.
  • Create a friendly, stimulating and interactive learning environment.
  • Develop trusting and honest relationships with children, families, colleagues, management and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance of the EYLF and NQS
  • Ability to be available at short notice
  • Available Monday to Friday

 

It is essential to have the following:

 

  • Certificate III or actively studying towards 
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • willingness to undertake the Y mandatory Child Protection Training
  • Demonstrated experience in early childhood education
  • Have a current Working with Children's Check or willing to obtain
  • COVID 19 Vaccinations
