The Y, Brisbane has many services tailored to the needs of the communities including Schools’ Breakfast Program, Vocational Schools, Cancer Survivors Program, Community Centres, Affordable Housing, Youth Mentoring and more.

One of the many services that we are very proud to provide for the community is our Outside School Hours Care Service with more than 50 services across Queensland.

 

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Coordinator to join our brand-new Outside School Hours Care service; YMCA Hilliard OSHC which is opened in July 2023 located in Alexandra Hills.

This is a permanent, part-time position. Your working hours per week will be 34.5 hours during school term and 38 hours during vacation care time.

The Y OSHC head office is based in Stafford, providing administrative and operational support.

 

YMCA Hilliard Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service is located in Alexandra Hills at the premise of Hilliard State School and is licensed for up to 90 children.

 

The service has a large exclusive playground and outdoor space, inspiring the educators to provide creative programs and activities to nourish the students with curiosity for social, emotional and intellectual development.

As an OSHC Assistant Coordinator you will assist with: 

 

  • The development of quality programs;
  • Manage the day to day running of the programs;
  • Support the Coordinator with staff management;
  • Ensure compliance with policy;
  • Undertake administrative requirements;
  • Work collaboratively with families and the school community.

 

 

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

 

  • Completed (or close to completion) of relevant qualifications in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services);
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare;
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain;
  • Certificate of Suitability to work with Children and Young People (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain.
  • NQF knowledge would be advantageous.
