Q: How do I apply for a job within YMCA Brisbane or Social Impact

Q: Can I apply for more than one (1) position?
A: Yes. You are welcome to apply for several positions within the Y.

Q: How will I know that my application has been received?
A: Once you have submitted your application online, you will receive an automatic email response confirming receipt of your application.

Q: How will I be notified of the progress of my application?
A: If you are successful through our initial stages, a YMCA representative will be in touch with you and continue to keep you updated.
If you are unsuccessful in making it to the first stage, you will receive a notification email advising you of the outcome. All unsuccessful candidates will receive notification at the end of the job closure and asked if they would like to remain on the database for future roles

Q: Are interviews conducted for every role at the Y?
A: Yes, all positions at the Y require an interview. This includes volunteers and work experience/practical hours.

Q: How are interviews conducted at the Y?
A: Interviews are held with two (2) YMCA representatives and  depending on the position you have applied for, may include the following:

  • Face-to-Face Interview
  • Telephone / Video Interview
  • Group Interview
  • Panel Interview

For Management or Supervisory positions, more than one (1) interview may be required

Q: Do I have to be an Australian Citizen to work at the Y?
A: To be eligible for employment, applicants must either be a permanent Australian resident or have the appropriate work visa.

Q: Does the YMCA accept applications from Employment Agencies?
A: We do not accept applications from Employment Agencies.
